DIY Wood Stain Console Table

You'll love the look of your console table after you apply Varathane fast dry Wood Stain. We used Dark Walnut. One coat is all you need for a rich, natural look in the perfect shade.

With any unfinished piece, make sure the surface is smooth by lightly sanding any spots that feel rough and wipe away any sanding residue with a lint-free cloth.

Once your surface is smooth, apply a generous amount of Varathane wood stain with a lint-free rag and work it into the wood in circular and back-and-forth motions going with the grain of your wood. Wipe away any excess stain with a clean, lint-free rag and let the stain dry for 1 hour.

Protect your wood with a coat of Triple Thick Polyurethane. Apply the topcoat with a high-quality paint brush and let the console table cure for 24 hours before placing it into your room.
