How to Create DIY Kid’s Swing?

  • Sand the tabletop and remove dust from surface using the tack cloth.
  • Spread out the old sheet or drop cloth and place the wood on it.
  • Spray-paint with first color choice, using sweeping motions. Allow to dry.
  • Apply painter’s tape. Leave four exposed wedge shapes.
  • Spray-paint with second color choice, using sweeping motions. Allow to dry.
  • Remove painter’s tape. Cover one strip on inside of first-color wedges and cover all second-color paint with painter’s tape.
  • Spray-paint with third color choice, using sweeping motions. Allow to dry.
  • Apply polyurethane. Sand. Remove dust. Repeat.
  • Drill hole in the center of the tabletop and insert end of rope. Tie a knot on the bottom.
  • Hang on a sturdy branch.
  • Enjoy!

  • Sandpaper: grit 400
